Kuamo’o is not currently open to the public. We provide managed access through a 4X4 road or by hiking. Kuamoʻo is located just south of the end of Aliʻi Drive in Kailua – Kona on Hawaiʻi Island. Site includes 47 acres of preserved and protected coastal property.
Please contact AKA to inquire about opportunities for your ʻohana, school, organization or group to visit Kuamoʻo. Site visits include hiking along the National Historic Ala Kahakai trail, observing culturally significant sites, sharing and learning about the Historical significance, moʻolelo (stories) and values of Kuamoʻo. AKA believes it is best practice to include time to share aloha by assisting in removing invasive species, clearing specific areas, trail maintenance and restoring native Hawaiian plant species to Kuamoʻo.
